wilted purple tulips

This is one of 3 similar pix I'd like feedback on. This one has only the wilted flowers, the other 2 have my muse, the deer skull. Sometimes I like this one the best, sometimes the others. Please help.
I didn't set out to do wilted flowers, I just neglected to water (or look at) them for a week. The next thing I new...perfect drooping. Seemed like a perfect death metaphor to add the skull (see later shots). Maybe too much.

The dead flowers didn't do it for me. Not even as a metaphor. Maybe because they were just wilted not bleached out with no life left.
